Manchester United outcast Anderson has revealed several players want to leave Old Trafford.
Manchester United outcast Anderson, who is currently plying his trade in the Italian Serie A with ACF Fiorentina, has revealed several players want to leave Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old Brazilian midfielder joined United from F.C. Porto for a fee believed to be in the region of €30 million in the summer of 2007 and has been in-and-out of the first-team ever since.
Earlier this season, Anderson lost his place under new manager David Moyes and was allowed to leave the club in order to join Fiorentina on loan for the rest of the season.
He has appeared in two Serie A fixtures since signing for the Viola, coming on as a second-half substitute against Genoa and starting against Cagliari.
“I’m sure that lots of players want out, especially people like myself and Nani who have been in Manchester for seven or eight years,” Anderson told ESPN, as per Sky Sports.
“Manchester United is a huge club, a club that does everything for its players but sometimes a footballer wants to leave just to experience a different way to play football, to learn something as well.”
The contracts of Patrice Evra, Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand are due to expire at the end of the season, while the futures of Javier Hernandez and Nani also hang in the balance as wholesale changes are expected at United in the summer.
One player being linked with a big-money summer move to Manchester United is Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos, whose current contract at the Allianz Arena is due to expire in the summer of 2015.
The Germany international, 24, was the subject of reported interest from United during the January transferwindow but no deal materialised, with Bayern keen to keep hold of their star man.
Recent reports had suggested Kroos was involved in a ‘bust-up’ with Bayern boss Pep Guardiola; however, Bayern director Matthias Sammer has insisted everyone at the club wants to see Kroos stay in Munich.
“We are aware that Toni Kroos is a very good player,” Sammer told Sky Deutschland.
“We actually have a contract left to go with Toni Kroos and we clearly would want to keep on with him.
“Everyone at Bayern Munich is sharing this point of view.”
Kroos has made 31 appearances (28 starts) in all competitions for European champions this season, tallying one goal and five assists.
Bayern (17-0-2) — priced at 13/5 to win the UEFA Champions League — will travel to the Grundig-Stadion to face 15th-placed FC Nurnberg at the weekend.
